AQuA stands for the App Quality Alliance.
It's an industry-approved, not-for-profit app testing body, run for the industry by the industry.
It develops testing and de-fragmentation initiatives for the mobile industry, to provide a common testing standard for mobile platforms: initially - but not exclusively - Java ME.
Take a look at the AQuA FAQs pdf released in March 2013.
Members of AQuA are:
AT&T
LG
Motorola
Nokia
Oracle
Orange
Samsung
Sony Mobile
These are also the members of the Java Verified programme.
Find out more about the members and what they do.
If you are an operator or OEM interested in protecting and developing the quality of Java ME apps, and would like to discuss becoming a 'platinum' or 'gold' member of the Java Verified program, then please contact us.
A Java Verified board member or the AQuA Executive Director will then contact you to talk to you direct.
