We're pleased to announce Gameloft as the first developer to receive Trusted Status from Java Verified.
From today, the hundreds of Java ME applications submitted to Java Verified each year by Gameloft for Java Verified signing will no longer need to go through official testing, saving the company a substantial amount of money (typically between $75 and $250 per app depending on the nature of the app and the test house chosen).
Gameloft will still ensure that the apps pass the Unified Testing Criteria 100% of the time, but Java Verified will trust them that this is the case.
We'll now start to roll-out Trusted Status to other existing Java Verified developers: developers who have earned the trust of Java Verified by demonstrating unfailingly that testing to the UTC standard is a crucial part of their product developement activity.
"We consider Trusted Status will help Gameloft gain a competitive edge" said Andrei Vladimir Lascu from Gameloft. "It represents both a recognition of our company's ability to develop Java ME apps to a high standard of quality but also a way to reduce the costs and time of releasing these applications onto the market".
